Obsession: Eyebrows

I have always had an obsession with eyebrows because they frame your eyes... the key to your soul. If you have them natural, thinned or perfectly groomed they play a huge role in our everyday life. Your make-up can be perfect and every hair in place.. but if your brows are a mess none of that matters. On the same note if you have no make up on and your hairs a mess but your brows are perfect.. your face looks amazing!

When we look at our natural brows our shape is there.. regardless of the shape we desire. I choose to pluck mine so I have full control. (I also do it on a daily basis so it's easier to maintain my shape without too many strays growing in)

When shaping someone's brow I typically look at their overall shape and begin to groom. I take away a layer and step back because when you are up close sometimes it's easy to get carried away and take hairs that should not be removed. It is better to leave a hair than take it away if you are unsure, cause they don't always grow back. I also read your hair grows in the direction you pluck.. I personally like to go in the direction of growth because it hurts less.

Although I am not a professional... I have shaped quite a few eyebrows and above are some of my favorites!

Whats your technique with your brows or do you get them done?

I have the same obsession. I love heavy well-defined eyebrows. When I was about 7, I shaved off all my eyebrows. I don't know why I shaved them off but I do believe that was the start of my obsession.

I shape my eyebrows myself with a razor and fill them with dark brown powder.

I have a kind of obsession too!
Well, I think that all girls have an obsession with their eyebrows...
and mine grow so fast, what is really annoying!

It's all about the brows! It's amazing how a little bit of plucking can take your appearance to a new level!

Dude, eyebrows can make or break your face. I am a freaking wolverine and am super hairy so my eyebrows tend to take a lot of work and time -- I always tell them to keep them relatively thick especially towards the center of my forehead, then thinner towards the end. Camilla Bell (I think this is her name) has some of the best eyebrows I've ever seen. I always wonder if they are just naturally like that of if she gets work.

Adding you to my blog roll by the way -- I love your layout and content. Its nice to get refreshed while check out new blogs! : )

I pluck almost daily but there are some gaps in my eyebrows so I have to fill them in.

I so agree! I have used tweezers for years and do it almost daily as well. I have tried waxing once but did not see a difference.

Just stumbled across your blog and I love the eyebrow post! I have naturally bushy eyebrows and I just recently plucked them thin... I'm thinking I want to go back to the thicker lines. I love Ash Olsens eyebrows oh so much! :) I'm too picky about my eyebrows to have someone else do them... I have to do them! And then if there is a mistake it is all my fault. Ha

Love,

yes, i really believe that eyebrows are important keys to a face's overall look. they reflects one's care about appearance and neatness. which is great. i usually get help from my makeup expert friends to shape them. then they grow back, i pluck them following the previous shape. haha.

anyway, i really like camilla belle's eyebrows. naturally thick and lovely!!

yay BOLD BROWS! I am obsessed.

the trick is "threading"! So much better than waxing and keeps them full but totally manicured.

alos, I swear by powder for filling them in (matte eyeshadow - my fave is Nars Blonde}. Pencil looks too harsh!

such a cute blog!!

I get them waxed on the top and the bottom with a small arch, and then fill them in with a Benefit brow pencil :)

I LOVE the layout of your blog, as well as your writing. I'm following you now :)
