Colour Palette

So I've been waiting for this colour palette to come out for what seems like forever. It has labels and a completely magnetic bottom with removable dividers. { im literally staring at it as i write this}

Once in my possession I arranged and rearranged the colours to fit my new and older shades together. All this time my eye and cheek colours have been apart in hopes of being organized like a good wardrobe. And like a good closet, the possibilities are endless.

When the weather gets warmer I don't think of pastel or neon colored nails.. I think of color, color I would wear any time of year. Now typically I buy one polish at a time and am torn between two that are almost identical.. but when I saw these colors from the Hong Kong and Shrek Collection I had to have them all, not to mention their names are so fun: Suzi Says Feng Shui, Funky Dunkey, Dim Sum Plum, and Jade Is The New Black.

Obsession: Resse's Bangs

Everyone who knows me can tell you that I go from like to obsessed rather quickly. If you remember I cut my hair here for my birthday and its already down to my shoulders so I'm due for a trim. Since my stylist will be cutting my hair anyway I figured I can use a change. My hair is one of those things I have no problem experimenting with... since it does grow back. I absolutely love Rees"s bangs, they are long enough to sweep to the side and short enough to wear down... pure perfection.

How do you feel about bangs.. do you like experimenting with your hair or do you stick to the same do?

Short Hair

Now that my hair is short I find myself wearing it one of three ways.. naturally curly, completely straight or with the ends curled. I am enjoying the freedom of the shorter hair but my flat iron decided to retire last week, leaving  me with no options curly hair.. shopping for a new one. When I got home from work today there was a package waiting for me and it was my new beloved tourmaline ceramic ion flat iron. I then ran in the shower washed my hair and tried it out. Needless to say it was fantastic and made me practically forget about my old one. (after over four years together)

How do you wear your hair?

P.s. Thank you everyone for your comments.. and sorry for the lack of posts, I'm moving in a couple of weeks and I have been going through my things packing up what I want and giving away what I don't. I will be better after I move. :)

Obsession: Eyebrows

I have always had an obsession with eyebrows because they frame your eyes... the key to your soul. If you have them natural, thinned or perfectly groomed they play a huge role in our everyday life. Your make-up can be perfect and every hair in place.. but if your brows are a mess none of that matters. On the same note if you have no make up on and your hairs a mess but your brows are perfect.. your face looks amazing!

When we look at our natural brows our shape is there.. regardless of the shape we desire. I choose to pluck mine so I have full control. (I also do it on a daily basis so it's easier to maintain my shape without too many strays growing in) 

When shaping someone's brow I typically look at their overall shape and begin to groom. I take away a layer and step back because when you are up close sometimes it's easy to get carried away and take hairs that should not be removed. It is better to leave a hair than take it away if you are unsure, cause they don't always grow back. I also read your hair grows in the direction you pluck.. I personally like to go in the direction of growth because it hurts less.

Although I am not a professional... I have shaped quite a few eyebrows and above are some of my favorites!

The BOB

As I mentioned in a previous post... I'm turning 29 in a couple of weeks and cannot wait for all the things that are yet to come. I always enjoyed my birthday being in the beginning of the year because its a fresh start to making life that much better than it was in the years passed.

With that said I'm cutting my hair to my chin.. its currently a few inches below my shoulders and Ive been wearing it down to enjoy the length before its gone. I've been thinking about cutting it for some time and think now is perfect. Here are some shots I found online that have inspired the change..

Does it Matte-r

So I bought matte polish from OPI for the first time today in You Don't know Jacques and Russian Navy.  Although the lack of gloss takes some getting used to it has an edgy feel to it. You see the stokes of the application more so than a regular polish but the overall look is stunning! If you like something different I would definitely recommend it!


Ps. Has anyone seen New Moon? ... Loved it!

Meow

At the moment I am completely obsessed with the cat eye and this picture is a great example of it. This is by far my favorite picture of Kim.. her hair, makeup and even eyebrows are perfectly in place.  I love how her liner isn't exaggerated and the rest of her makeup is kept to a minimum. Now, I've been toying around with different products to achieve this look and really like smashbox cream eye liner duo and I apply it with a flat eyeliner brush.... working my way outwards. (stays in place throughout the day)

Ps. Are you loving the cat eye as much as i am right now... what products are you using?

Products I Love

Let me start by saying I started wearing make-up well into my twenties and have fallen in love. I enjoy playing with color and trying new things. Although I may choose a trendy color I will use it in a conventional way. I'm that person who thinks of a color and then goes on a mission to find it in an eyeshadow or nail polish (Anyway to incorporate it into my life) Be sure to share some of your favorite products too....
